    Re: Front brakes won't release

I had locked up brakes. It turned out that the spring inside the master cylinder had compressed and not returned to its full length, causing the tip valve to remain closed. So every time I stepped on the brake it pumped more fluid into the master and lines, totally locked down the wheels. Temporary fix was to open the tip valve by inserting a small tool(coat hanger wire) into the hole in the bottom of the reservoir to release the pressure. You'll see a little squirt of brake fluid come up. It only takes a slight pressure. I stretched the cylinder spring out and have been driving it for the last 30 years. (Ive had the thing since 1980). Did your master replacement come with the plunger and spring already loaded? Maybe the spring isn't strong enough. Maybe the rubber seals may have swollen with the wrong brake fluid? I use the silicone fluid for brake and clutch.
