General MG Question on selling

I've had numerous Mgs for many years and the time has come to liquidate everything I have. I've owned a VW resto shop and have been able to do well with those but selling the MG hoard has been difficult. I've come to the decision that it may be a better idea to part them out as people seem to want to repair or build there own vehicles. A coupe, B roadsters, BGT, CGT and a 77 B roadster Rover V-8 5 speed conversion. That one has less than 1000 miles since the rebuild. It may sound heartless but it's strictly me being practical. I'm planning g ahead. When something happens to me I don't want this mess dumped on my family. If anyone has any other options (other than Craigslist or E_Bay) please feel free. Thx.

Bring a trailer especially this time or year might be a good option. Take lots of pics of the good bad and ugly and invest some time to answer the questions in the comment section during the auction. MG's seem to do well there especially when well presented.

Jack,
Im in the same boat and I’m in the process of deciding what needs to go and what won’t be a pita to my family when I’m gone. The BAT suggestion is a good one and I plan on selling there as well. Cars that are presented with the good, bad and ugly along with pictures and seller comments to specific questions do really well.

Jack, as above. I think parting out will be a PITA - and will ultimately take longer. At this point keep in mind that the goal here is not the biggest dollar or the best home but the emptiest shop.

cheers

I understand the PITA factor. But if I just pull the drivetrain and things like the new wheels and tires, w/s assy, instruments..and only big chunks like front end and all the kites. Then scrap the body, I won't have a hulk lying around.

Another thing to consider is that the bodies themselves may be valuable - I had a complete car with a really bad body. It took me quite a while to find someone selling a solid rolling shell that I can transplant the remainder of my otherwise complete B into. I still have to replace the floors, but otherwise the "new" body is solid. The body is often the hardest thing to find in usable condistion...
