I'm presently working my Jag Mk1 and parts are easy to find. My 1964 Plymouth Valiant has hard to find parts. What is the verdict on finding what I need for a Herald. I am not unfamiliar with Triumphs as I have had 2 Spits and a GT6, which are not to hard to find. Just looking at a convertible for $1800, not running with some rust. Drivetrain not a problem. I notice Moss and Roadster Factory has slim pickings.

Try Canley Classics in the UK. They seemed to have a nice selection when I was working on my Sports 6/Vitesse.

Thanks, I have roledex full of British Car Part Suppliers. Very familiar with UK Ebay too. We have Victoria British about 5 hrs away. 20 yrs ago I had RF and Moss and Special Interest, have to come up 20 yrs to today. Didn't have internet back then. Will look at Canley Classics. Thanks again.

A factory Spare Parts Catalogue for the Herald is your friend. Alternatively, sites such as Canley Classics pretty much serve the same purpose. Both give you cross-reference as to what fits other models (the Spitfire being a direct descendant of the Herald, so much is similar or the same). And there's yours truly, who will also toss in his "shameless" plug asking if your car is listed on his Database: https://triumph-herald.us :D

EDIT: I just realized you don't (yet) have the car. With some photos and possibly a commission number, I can likely tell you at least a little bit about the car you're looking at!

Haven't bought yet, researching at this point. Will be a 4hr round trip with trailer. Looking to see if I can get parts easier than my mentioned projects already taken up room. Wife is skeptical, because I have 4 cars in the garage, one in a storage unit, one in a portable garage in driveway. She drove GT6 for 12 yrs to work. She saw the Herald (like she did the Valiant) and thought we should look into it. Valiant has been on jacks for 2 yrs, Jag on cart 4 yrs and boat down 1 yr. Just need parts to make a smooth flow. AND we have another 4" of snow, so internet and feasibility study under way. Thanks. PS, I have the books for the numbers and models, was a member of the Vintage Triumph Association. I can get most anything up and running in a week, just looking for body. They said rust, so I have imagined the worst. Floorpans aren't a problem.

Andy, I had the GT6 in a database. But, the 1500 Spit, once I got it sorted, touched up, new top and tires, I got rid if it as fast as possible. Almost got killed passing a semi, the turbulance slowed me down so much I barely got back in the lane for oncoming traffic. My 64 Spit with dual carbs was faster. Never again bought a car that wouldn't do 100. When weather breaks I will go look. Right now I-70 west of Columbia Mo is closed. Had a humongus cras with 6 semis in the front line and video of cars sliding a crashing into cars already stopped. This went on for a half hour. EMS had a hard time getting in and there is 1 casualty already. Thanks.

This a great thread I will save as I recently purchased a '66 RHD Herald Convertible. My wife loves it but we have lots to do!

It would be nice to have another Herald in the group. Here is my '69 13/60. Sorry for the poor pic, I've got some better ones but they seem to hidden behind the cloud somewhere.

I have not restored mine but have done some rust repairs. Although there are quite a few NLA items, the cars are fairly simple and if you can't get an item you can usually fix the piece you've got, get a repair section, or find something fixable used.

As stated before, Canley is a good source. I also use Rimmer Brothers. The exchange rate is favorable and the shipping costs and time are comparable and sometimes better than US suppliers.

Don't type so loudly, my wife will hear....I've only got one and a half Heralds, but if we are counting Triumphs (TR4's/TR4A's/TR250/TR6)...I might be in trouble....
