    Handpan or Hang drum

    Last night on the news there was a guy playing a strange looking drum. I had never seen anything like it before so I did some Internet searches for it.

    The Hang drum or Handpan.

    David - thanks for the info. I'd never heard of those until now. Reminds me of the traditional "calypso" steel pan drums of the Caribbean.

    That is kind of where the idea came from.

    This is the guy that designed the original Hang Drum. They are still evolving. Watching him work is interesting. The sand helps him see where to move the metal.
