MGA Oil thrower question

I've read Barney's posts, and the factory workshop manual, but this isn't addressed. Maybe it's too obvious to need it, but in installing the new (correct style) oil thrower, it slides past the back of the woodruff key. I'm assuming the pressure between the crankshaft pulley and the timing gear is sufficient to keep the thrower spinning? Just don't want to take any chances after all that's gone into building this engine. Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure you'll be OK. Just be sure the thrower is oriented so that it doesn't foul the timing chain when installed. Do a test fit without the timing cover to inspect.

All buttoned up Mickey, thanks for asking. Pretty sure the friction will keep it throwing oil, and the orientation is correct (changed to an MGB cover/seal and thrower.
