Four college seniors with excellent grades were about to graduate, having only one last test to take. The test would determine their final grade and was needed to graduate. It would be given the following day, so they decided to take a road trip into the city to celebrate their graduation instead of cramming for this final math exam. They partied a bit too much and slept through the time for the test! They went to the professor's office that afternoon and admitted they'd gone into town the night before but had a flat tire on the way home and had to wait for a shop to open in the morning to get it fixed. The professor listened and agreed they could make up the test the following day. They went to their dorm and studied, showing up the next morning for the exam. The professor gave each student the sealed test papers and assigned each a separate room to sit in.
They started the procedure reading the first page, it stated the test would count for 75% of their final grade, each page had one question. First page was to be scored as five percent of the overall and seemed fairly easy to all four. The second question, on page two, was stated to count for 95% of the total. It simply read: "Which tire?"
