Chrome shops?

Can someone tell me the name of the chrome shop that has a very good reputation. I think it was in Alabama or Tennessee. The one that Jack used for Miss Agatha.

I have use both of these companies. Good chrome work is expensive, inexpensive chrome does not exist. Paying a lot for chrome work is not a guarantee of quality.
Get a written quote. Get referrals. Get an estimate of time to complete the project. Send a small item to test the ability of the plater to meet your expectations.

Graves plating was well know outfit up in eastern Miss., I think. Pebble Beach quality... not easy to get quote. Not cheap, super quality and reputation... don't know if still there...

Last shops I used were in Ks. and Okla.: decent work, fair price, tough logistics, reasonable timing... still looking, too...

Graves used to advertise in Hemmings...

Graves Plating is in Florence, Al. About 5 miles from my shop. Very good quality work but they gotten picky on what they will do and very expensive. I use Dans Chrome shop in Savannah, TN. He worked for Graves for years then went out on his own. About as reasonable as you will find.

The hard part I always run up against, is location.... getting stuff to plater to "see"/quote, then getting it back...Also, have a lot of race car suspensions with skinny wall tubing, most folks grind off old plating, rather than "deplating"...doesn't work on those...or others with "details"...... plating: always problematic to say the least...

Another top guy was Bobby Smith, Smith Motorcars (Motorworks?), over in Texas...north of Dallas... he did top end Gullwings, Ferraris, etc.. had to buy out his plater to get a reliable source... stuff I've seen of his is real nice... haven't tried him myself.
