A brilliant, brilliant mind.

He reminds us that our humanity *is* our mind, despite the many physical disabilities we may have.

While sad it is also extraordinary that he was able to live such a long life with ALS.

A brilliant, brilliant man! One of the greatest minds the world has ever known is gone, but his contributions to science will probably make his name as immortal as Einstein. Carl Sagan who will also be remembered for many years to come as a brilliant mind. PJ

I feel Hawking was MILES ahead of Sagan. More comparable to Richard Feynman or Paul Dirac. Sagan was more well known, his contribution to popularizing sciences in general was admirable but he hadn't much in the way of contribution to theoretical physics.

Sagan helped us appreciate the enormity of space with his "bill-yuns and bill-yuns of stars"
