And with rust in the engine compartment. Somebody with money and no car standards.

Somebody with money and no car standards.

If I'm selling and looking to make a quick buck.... that's the buyer I'm looking for!!!

Although my history would show I A) dont sell or B) sell to fellow car people for little or no profit.....

I was going to say if it's original, don't touch rust under the bonnet, until I read the MeCum double-speak:

Flawless original body, chassis and engine compartment are all in original finishes

followed by:
The exterior was stripped of an older off-shade repaint and a concours level bare-metal repaint performed in 2014 in its original Leaf Green color

So, how can this be "original finish" on the body if it was all stripped off and repainted three years ago?

I cannot understand going through the trouble of painting the exterior while leaving the engine bay intact. Also, were original engine red? It has the side plates of the 948/1098, but were red engines replacement engines?

Nope, engines were never red and there's plenty else wrong with this "Flawless Original". The explanation for the respray is answered by the selling price. "Splash and Dash"... dazzle the eye of the inexperienced buyer, the rest be d*mned. Just imagine what's going on underneath or places you can't see.

Nice looking car but far from concourse. I think a reflection as to one of the problems in this country today. Too few people with far too much money! Little knowledge but lots of cash! As they say with an auction....it just takes two fools.

Kurt.
