A couple of months back someone posed into a tread that he had added about 8 ounces of an additive to a quart of 30W oil to lube his Sprite Transmission.
I have had no luck in finding the post.
I am interested in giving this a try

Joe, don't think this is the one you're thinking of, but Marvel Mystery Oil is one option. Replace 1/4 to 1/3rd.

Lucas is another - I also use their oil stabiliser.

I am more impressed than I thought I would be since I was raised believing it was all snake oil - I know I have it in my diff and am pretty sure I have it in my transmission and as mentioned use it in the crankcase always.

I'm using Redline products in transmissions and differentials. Absolutely no wisdom to share as to why, other than it seemed like a good idea at the time. Doug

I also used redline in FP car trans with no problems (Have an extra quart sitting on shelf)
Someone mentioned in an earlier post using a quart of 30 weight and 8 ounces of additive to the trans. I was just interested in what they were using.
At the moment it sounds like one of the Lucas products

Joe, it was my post. I use 20/50W with 8oz to 12oz of Lucas oil additave. I also added some Lucas to the rear differential. 30w seems a tad light for the trans.

In British trans I used to run straight 50wt non-detergent. My 5 gallon can is empty and I'm sure I would have to special order it now.

Kurt.
