Hey young Skywalker, put the gun back in the holdster and step away from the darkside.

Seems to me that Practical Classics ran a feature on these about a year ago. You might start there.

Shooting brakes, Woodies etc are cool,

I went to the Show in Santa Cruz last year , 100s of woodies on display,

I may just have to make a "kustom" woodie /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

or another large classic car .......

No cars laying around, but I can point you to an awesome exotic hardwood store down in Torrance CA. Eisenbrand I bought the wood for my dash and steering wheel from them. Good people.

My grnadmother had an Edsel wagon. It broke down on on them in Flordia on a trip. My grandfather diden't want to wait to get it repaired, so they traded it in on somthing else. She never forgave my grandfather for that. She said that Edsel was the best car she ever owned.

Sorry, don’t know anyone. I thought about rigging up a steamer of some sort but wussed out. I wound up cutting a series of arcs from a plank of Lacewood and gluing them to the steel rod hoop of the wheel. I like the spokes on the original Healey wheel, but I wasn’t finding one with wood. Plus I wanted it to match the dash and the gearshift knob.
