Shifter Bushing Question

Hey guys. I have a 61 BT7. At. Some point the gearbox was switched over to a center shift. My question is how does the brass shift bushing propery attach. It's a split brass busing and it doesn't fit on the ball on the end of my shift rod. Does the BJ8 have a larger ball? If someone had a pic of how it goes in that would be awesome. When I had it all installed it was binding up. I have attached some pics. Thanks

the shift bushing on my BJ8 is one piece nylon.

A 1961 BT7could be either a sidshift or a center shift, depending on when it was produced.

I had problems with the two-piece original style brass bushing (with the wire around the bottom to hold the two parts together) staying together. So I use a nylon bushing, which I think I got from Moss. The interior diameter of the nylon bushing from Victoria British is too large for the older shift levers.

Ensuring that the lever control casting inside the transmission is not worn in the area where the bushing sets is important with either bushing material.
