MGB Taking a run north this weekend, Bellingham & Blaine

In the past month I've replaced:

Coil (blue Bosch)
Ignition wires (NGK set)
Plugs (Bosch WR7DC+)
Brake Master
Brake servo

Also found my choke had been sticking, which (of course) led me to work really hard on the ignition side until I found the choke sticking and sprayed it with silicone lubricant and worked it until it operates smoothly.

Now the car starts just like it should in the cold of morning, pull choke, don't touch the gas pedal, turn the key and it just starts!!!
Last year this week I installed the HIF4 carbs and the early exhaust, it's only taken a year to work out all the little demons until it's now running and stopping great.

We are going to visit the Skagit valley and see the daffodils (Tulips won't be out for a few weeks) then we will spend a night in Bellingham and then up to Blaine to spend a day & night at Semiahmoo.

We have had a lot of fun, only one automobile related issue so far.
The accelerator cable snapped on the way back to the resort last night.
I brought no tools and no spares.
I did have a tie wrap, so we got back on the road in about 5 minutes part of which was me figuring out what to do.
That will get us to a parts store or a bike shop this morning.

I remember when I was in ET School on Treasure Island, about the time I got married for the first time.
My buddy drove us in every day, then we went to SF to pick up his wife after work, and home to Oakland. He had a fairly new (for 1969/1970) Datsun pickup.
One day we had just gotten onto the Bay Bridge headed towards SF, and the throttle cable broke.
We grabbed a piece of baling wire, pushed a rubber plug out of the firewall, twisted a loop around the appropriate throttle part on the carb, through the firewall, big loop on the end....pull to go fast...and he did throttle and clutch, I did gears, all the way over, and back home, until he could run down and get the part.
Good thing all you needed was a tie wrap.

No tools? In an LBC? Oh, boy.

Oh...married for first time...and still am, 47 years later...
