Beautiful Day For a Drive
Please don't hate me but I wanted to share with you folks that I had a great drive this morning.
We have had a pretty wet December in Southern California, but today was clear and actually quite warm. Another Pacific storm is qued to come in late tonight, so time to make hay.
My home is a little more than 15 miles from Downtown L.A., but it is at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains. Not exactly the Rockies, but they do have peaks as high as 10,000 feet and they are in my backyard.
Anyway, I took about a 65 mile drive today, with only one stop sign... the picture below was taken of my BN7 at about 5,500 feet in elevation. The picture doesn't show how spectacular the vista truly was. In the foreground are the San Gabriel Mountains, beyond is the LA basin, then Long Beach Harbor (I could count the ships in the harbor, more than 50 miles away) and then in the distance the jewel of Santa Catalina Island.
I could easily see over 100 miles.....Breath taking.
