Anyone else lived near weird stuff their whole life?

Offline
I was born in WV. As a kid we lived near Moundsville. And in a small community named after a rock... Rosby's Rock. PhotoGrid_1477773964940.jpg
Later, we moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama when I was in 3rd grade, I've lived near mounds and weird historical places my whole life. Anyone else live near strange places?

Well, I guess where I live, weird is now the accepted normal.
Lake Murray, SC was created about 1929 (pre- new deal, but same concept, (put a lot of fellas to work)
Dammed up & flooded the Saluda River basin, displacing over 5000 people & 3 towns. The Feds reported moving over 2000 graves to new sites on higher ground. ( but the rascals didn't count the Black folks back then & their "remains" remained ). Between 1930-40, it was not uncommon to mistake a floating wooden casket for a johnboat. (According to one old-old fella I know anyway)
still can see the old churches, buildings, bridges, etc on sonar....even a good fish Finder.

I live near Santa Fe! (By the way, I was born and raised in WV too).
Your mention of Allegheny in another post brought me here.

That's pretty cool. Lake Tuscaloosa was man-made here, where I live now, back in the 70's.

Too late JP. Once it's on the internet someone has copied and saved it.

I think Berkeley counts as weird.

When we ride BART, a sign pops up on the train announcing signs occasionally that we should report strange activity to BART Police. I'm always asking my wife "How do I tell strange activity from normal activity around here?"
