TR2/3/3A Inner wishbone bushings

I am installing new two piece (steel inner and nylon outer) inner wishbone bushes. The outside diameter of the nylon parts is such that, when pushed in to the control arm, the inner steel bush is difficult to install and, when installed, will not rotate within the nylon. This would result in the steel bush rotating on the frame mount if installed. I have started reducing the OD of the nylon piece by scraping a razor blade longitudinally against it, shaving very thin slivers with each stroke. This will apparently take approximately forever. Moss tech has not answered my inquiry. Does anyone have any thoughts on speeding this up.

When you tighten the cap bolts onto the inner pivot assemblies, the steel sleeve should get pinched enough to lock it on the frame pin. That will force the nylon bushing to rotate. I don't think it matters whether the rotation is on the inside of the bushing or the outside...both should be well lubed with chassis grease. So long as you can get the nylon bushing in the hole and on the pin, you should be good.

This binding is so severe that I think the pinch would be overcome. I am going to put one arm together and pinch it in place to see what happens with hand rotation.

I think that I would be reaming out the bore in the Nylon bush. Better for the sleeve to pivot in the nylon than the nylon bush to move in the control arm.

The nylon bush fit the inner steel bush perfectly until the nylon was installed. Thus, you could reduce the OD or increase the ID of the nylon. The issue is a tool to use on the inner diameter. I got it done with the razor blade on the outside. It is still tight in the wishbone. By the way, I have yet to hear from Moss tech support since my email last wed or thur.

Lightly file the outside of the hard plastic bushing, and test it for snug fit at frequent intervals as you're filing. You don't want it to be too loose.
