Hello

I recently purchased (4) Painted 15X6 72 spoke rims in very nice condition. They came with the adaptor hubs off a tr4. The hub adaptors are 4.5”OC. The SP250 has a 4.5 bolt pattern but the lugs are bigger in diameter.

I have read in blogs that the adaptors can be modified, and it looks fairly easy.
Has anyone modified the TR adaptor hubs to fit the DaimlerSP250?
Should I get the rims powder coated?

Put 7/16" studs into your hubs - you need that size to use the special acorn nuts to hold on the adaptors. Normal nuts will bottom and cause serious issues with the adaptor.

I did this on my Jamaican - MGB front hubs which normally carry 1/2" studs - found some 7/16" I could press in.

You normally need to cut down the stud lengths on a TR or SP250 so the ends of the studs don't foul on the under side of the wheel. I opted to make up thin disc spacers so that if I ever wanted to go back to bolt on I wouldn't have to change the studs again.
