MGB Cheap new replacement horns...

My original horns haven't worked in a while, and trying to revive them hasn't gone well....so I bought a set of these at Harbor Freight - for $9.99! I just installed them and they work great....plenty loud! Physically, they are almost identical to the originals - except that these are chrome plated plastic instead of black. That's easy enough to change if you want. They mount exactly like the originals on the factory brackets. And they're plug and play. The kit comes with a couple of flat metal brackets (which aren't needed) as well as a relay and wiring diagram if you want to go that route. I didn't...they're plenty loud as is.

I replaced my non-functioning originals with a pair of Flamm horns.
There's almost nothing more disconcerting than pushing a horn button in an "emergency" situation, and hearing nothing other than the click of the button.
A wise, older, unfortunately now deceased, friend once said "the two loudest sounds you'll ever hear, is a click when you expect a boom, and a boom when you expect a click." Granted, we were on a pistol range at the time, but the concept transfers to horns.

Got mine at NAPA, but about twice as many dollars. The sound is kind of like an old Buick.

I put a set of Maserati air horns on Herself's MGB, she can switch between those or the original "city" horns with a switch. Used relays for both to take the current load off the horn push. Relays are a PITA to wire up but are your friend when it comes to old Brit (Lucas) electrics.

Good idea on the relays - not too hard once I got my head around the wiring - basically made a sub harness off the solenoid and all was good. - Now trying to figure out the same with the Vauxhall.
