Thread: 1/4 Elliptics- Getting the Bast__rd Apart

Discuss the Austin Healey Sprite and the MG Midget. Two different but similar cars sometimes referred to collectively as the Spridget.

Guysi've seen similar. So clamp has a spot for a rivet or a bolt to hold the clamp in place. Now to find the correct width.

Yes, hole drilled into the clamp lines up with the hole in the spring, and a rivet fastens the two together. I think the clamp is just band iron. You might be able to make the rivet out of a stove bolt.

Spring Shop closed on Saturday and Sunday. Acme Spring of all things. Right out of a Road Runner Cartoon. Since 1923. All I need to do is talk to the old farts there and I'm sure they will have a fix.

Got the centering bolt out of the last spring this afternoon. Evaporust to the rescue. Wire wheel, paint, slipplate, put the stack back together. Right now a carriage bolt is loosely keeping all of the leavers sorted and in order.
