TR4/4A Vent lid rod...help please

I am not sure if the vent rod has the correct profile, as it does not fit easily.
Pic one shows the profile.
In Pic two the rod appears straight when rotated at 90 deg.
OK??

Looks pretty close. I remember mine having angle in it but it will straight as well. If I finf a loose one today, i will post picture
