Please advise easiest sequence for replacing the door glass in a bare door shell....I have already fitted the door locks and associated mechanisms and the glass channel assemblys.
In particular, when to fit the inner and outer weather strips.
Any other advice would also be appreciated.

When I recently did my 4A I put the window in & mounted to the channel. After seeing all was well in terms of movement took the glass and
unmounted it and slid it so it rested as far to the bottom of the door (Need access to work on the seals). Did the outer seal first & then the inner seal. I can tell you it wasn't much fun !
Used the special tool and a thumb that was rendered useless before the project was completed.

I lucked into my own special tool for fitting the outside glass rubber clips. I'll have to dig it back out and post picture. Works really well.

I think if you do a forum search someone posted on a tool for installing vinyl siding that is very good for installing the clips as well.

Another tip for installing the outer seal rubber is leave off or take the bottom glass stop while installing the the seal. You can roll the glass down a little further so you have more room to work.

I just bent some sheet metal, maybe a little thicker than body material, about 1/2" wide or so, making a hook at the end to be able to pull the clips up, no not a whole lot of fun, especially when you drop them down the door, but that is ok if you don't have the interior panel on yet, anyway, tool was easy to make and worked fine.

The one I made was pretty much the same, maybe 3/4"wide, my trick is drill a hole big enough the clip will fit inside right at the bottom where the bend is. That way you are putting more pressure on the rubber to hold it against the the metal but catches the clip and will come up as you pull.
Forgot to mention the most valuable part. Put a piece of duck tap across the outside of hole and sheetmetal. You then place the clip in the hole, bottom of clip should be resting solid on the bend. Tape will hold clip while you slide it into position.
