57 100-6 Disk Brake Upgrade kit

I have a AH 100-6 BN-4 that needs new front brakes.

I would like to collect all the parts I will need before I take it in.

Can anyone recommend a complete kit or advise what I might need or have to look out for.

That kit is about 1200. delivered to the US. did you find yours in the states?

I printed out the picture of the parts and my mech. is concerned there are other parts I will need such as bolts wheel bearings seals a portioning valve, dust shield,

They have not put disk brakes on a BN4 before.

That bit about disks being an option on the BN4 is somthing I never heard before. I know it was standard in 58.

The factory used a .625" master cylinder and different rear wheel cylinders in lieu of a proportioning valve.

I put the kit on my old 100 6, an amazing different (improvement) in the braking. The kit I bought had everything needed but this was over 10 years ago. What it did not have was instructions on installation. Apparently, giving instructions to the brake products induces some liability, so you unless they changed the policy, you are on your own. The first wheel takes an hour and a half, the second, about half that time. I bought mine from AH Spares. Good company to deal with and quick shipping.

The DW kit came with the bolts. No need to change bearings, although seals might be good idea. No dust shield. It's not required unless you drive a lot - they were put on to reduce pad wear.

I bought my brakes, and quite a number of DW items, from DW about 15 years ago. I spent some time with Denis going through a list of upgrades so my car would be a balanced package.

I don't Remember exactly but the 48 or 62 wiring wheels can be critical (internal Diameter not allow the disk) I have the 72 spokes WW- the kit went from A4Healey-3 years ago- good kit (probably same kit of DW) and good result, without difficulty

Just for purposes of clarification. With the introduction of the 3000 in March or April of 1959, front disc brakes became standard. Also, rear disc brakes became a factory option but very few people availed themselves of that option as those bits are virtually unobtainium.
Disc brakes were never an option on a BN4.
