I was at the machine shop this afternoon putting the finishing touches on my MGB engine build and started talking to the owner about my 1275 parts that were there getting cleaned and measured. I have 2 blocks, std and .030 and 2 cranks, std and .010/.010 and will be going with the .030 block. The standard crank is from a 1973 Midget and it's nitrided as well as completely un messed with. I was not aware that 73s came with nitrided cranks and will be using this one after its polished. I'll be ordering my parts kit from Hap as soon as I get the crank back so I can start building this engine. Is there any great advantage to using the nitrided crank or would either work as well?
Thanks, Rut
