Engine Install motor mount question

Putting the 1275 in the BE today, and ran into problems figuring out how to attach the motor mounts.
I saw prior threads saying to put the passenger side mount on the engine and the drivers side mount on the car/body. I did this but no go. I get interference.

The above is just the latest iteration. I tried all combinations of brackets and rubberized mounts together and apart on car and on engine. Gave up for the evening.

You have them on the wrong sides, hence, upside down. Swap sides. The cutout/notch in the bracket is for the column clearance.

Also, it's easiest to install the with the steel brake attached loosely to the rubber mount on the right, and with the engine lowered, but higher on the left, slip the bracket between the frame and rubber mount and then lowering into place. Also a bit easier with the steering column out of the way, but still not to difficult to do with it in place.

OK, got 'em in, but I noticed after I bolted up the transmission mount, the engine was pushed forward around a 1/4 inch or so. See Pic:

I'm wondering if this is because of the thicker rear engine plate on the 1275/ribcase vs. the 948/smoothcase that came in my BE, or some other issue? Anyone else notice this issue?

No, that wouldn't be the case. For starters, the sum total difference between the plates would be 1/8" or less. The mounts have some adjustment to them, so you should loosen things up, both on the frame bolts and the rubber mounts ( all 3 nuts) , and see if you can adjust things further back (or forward) as the case may be.
