Turn signal wiring on back of switch. What goes where.

Ok I feel like it should be relatively simple but my issue is hooking up the switch. I can run a hot wire to each of the turn signals where they meet at the switch and they both blink as they should. When I hook up the switch nothing.

Can an anyone tell me which wire goes to which terminal. I have tried 4 switches and unless all of them are bad I'm hooking it wrong. I would just pull and try on different terminals but I don't feel like burning anything out.

This is a 3 terminal switch.

Are you talking about a dash mounted toggle switch?

sorry yes the dash switch.

I see they're numbered but could find which to hook to.

I may have forgotten but aren't the turn signal's on a BE supposed to be the small round bee hive light's?? A cheap VOM meter would quickly solve the switch wiring problem.

i would assume signal are 2/8 and power is 7 but I really don't want to burn out anything if I hookup wrong.

I am not very good with wiring and kind of learning as I go.

Mike, if you don't have a volt ohmmeter, you should get one.....or just a simple continuity tester. A continuity tester lights a light or buzzer when two leads are touched together. With your continuity tester there are three possibilities.
8 & 7
2 & 8
7 & 2
Test all three with the handle in the right position. The test that does light the light or buzz; these two connections go between one of the lamps and the flasher unit. Now switch the handle to the left position. Again the test that lights the light or buzzes is the other connection between the lamps and the flasher unit. Now, whichever terminal is common to both is the one which connects to the flasher unit, and the other two connect to the lamps. Hope my lesson here can give you some help to understand electricity a little better.
