Re: Help out on Spare parts

Soren, I really do not know. I think it boils down to what currency you will be dealing in. If DKK then the EU suppliers or the US would be the best sources I think.--FWIW---Keoke??

Re: Help out on Spare parts

Why not price up a list of major parts from say AH Spares in England and Moss in USA and see with the exchange rate which looks best.
Then your decision is nearly made.

Re: Help out on Spare parts

Hi Curtis, Exchange rate;DKK-to-GBP=12-to-1. Dkk-to- Euro= 6-to-1. Dkk-to-US$=6-to-1. Not spot on but very close.---Keoke

Re: Help out on Spare parts

Keoke, that would result in Euro-to-US$=1-to-1 and Euro-to-GBP=2-to-1 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Both conversions are around 25% off! Put overdrive off when calculating! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

If you are getting the parts in the US, several of the suppliers haave quantity discounts for larger orders. Additionally, we have many Moss USA resellers (justbrits.com and lbcarco.com among others) who give between 10 and 15 percent off the Moss price, and if you are lucky enought to have one of the cars in a city with a reseller, you can save a good bit of money.

Re: Help out on Spare parts

I think the easiest way to get cheap parts is to take the family holiday in england, close to some of the parts suppliers, and take the parts home in your own car.

You may be making a lot of "vacation" trips. You will never know what you need until you need it. Here you can get parts in a couple of days. If you have a big job ahead you may check with British Car Specialist. They have a discount for projects and I think you can order as you go.

The easiest thing for you is to order them from AH Spares in the UK. They ship very fast. about 2 to 3 days to get to me in Paris. You will have to pay VAT though, as you're in the EU, our US friends dont have that pleasure

Re: Help out on Spare parts

You have to pay the vat in UK, but usually not in Norway (because you just put the parts in your car), and since the VAT rate is lower in UK than in Norway, you save some. I think it is the same for DK as well.

As you live in Denmark, then AH apares will charge you the VAT when they mail them to you because they are not being"exported". You should not have to pay any additional VAT in Denmark
