    Re: Brake hoses

After checking out the link to Oldphartz Parts that Ausmhly inserted in his post #6 I made contact with them and received an immediate reply from Steve Christianson who said that making up such a kit...

    Re: Brake hoses

I have BT7 front discs and stock late BN1 rear drums. I just spoke with Moss and asked if they can mix and match but they said no, they come in prepackaged kits. I acnnot be sure but since Moss...

    Brake hoses

In my relatively unsuccessful quest for a consistently hard brake pedal I've decided to replace several components that do not owe me anything--namely the brake hoses and the rear wheel cylinders...

    Re: Water Pump Leak

Spoke with Inan today and she said the rebuilder uses sealed bearings so as several of you suggested no lubing seems in order . Thanks..

    Re: Horn question follow up

It doesn't matter whether it is the ground or the hot wire--if current flows through it the considerations are the same.

    Re: Horn question follow up

Not using a relay means that every part of the circuit(s) must carry the full amperage load, from the power lead to the horn button all the way to the horn itself. i don't know what kind of horns...

    Re: Water Pump Leak

i finished putting everything back together today and will hold off applying any grease to the pump until I speak with Bruce or Inan. In the meantime all seems good with temps staying at 180 which...

    Re: Water Pump Leak

    Bob--

I do not have access to my owner's or workshop manuals right now but if there was a zerk fitting on the pumps when the cars were new I must imagine that a couple of strokes on the lube gun...

    Re: Water Pump Leak

Prior to getting the rebuilt pump from Healey Surgeons I contacted Michael Salter--he said he is presently unable to get a couple of components to do a rebuild as he would like.

    One of the water...

    Re: Water Pump Leak

I am in the process of reassembling things with a rebuilt water pump obtained from Healey Surgeons.

    Re: Fan Blade Failure

    Bill--

I have no first-hand knowledge of fan failure except for seeing opn another person's car the results of a blade coming loose and going through a shroud--not a pretty sight!

    I am working...

Re: Ignition problem or not ?

I was not suggesting that you "try" a ballast resistor but rather simply that you ascertain if one is recommended.

Re: Ignition problem or not ?

Be sure and ask the tech guy about whether the coil needs a ballast resistor. I have a Mallory Unilite set in the Mallory distributor with a Mallory coil AND a Mallory ballast resistor (cannot now...

    Re: Fan Blade

Previous to the metal flex fan I had a plastic one--don't now remember the source--which worked well for a number of years and then seemed to lose its effectiveness. For some reason I removed it...

I have that one as well--the SS flex fan--and like it very much. It is a bit noisy but so is everything else.

Seeing my radiator out of the car while switching out the water pump drove me to explore whether something off-the-shelf--such as a new AL radiator--held promise of significantly improved cooling...

    Re: Aluminum radiator

    Steve--

By stock do you mean black in color or simply the correct shape?
I do not disagree with you that AL radiators look is a bit inconsistent with that of a Healey's engine compartment.

    Re: Aluminum radiator

I am going to resurrect and old thread since I now have my radiator out.
If anyone has installed a Wizard radiator in the last few years I would appreciate learning of their experience.

I didn't mention it earlier but my present pump came from the usual sources less than two years ago.
Perhaps we need to regard the standard water pump as a maintenance item.

    I wonder if anyone...
