  3. MGB Re: Early MGB engine compatible with later transmission

To put the earlier GB series engine up to a full syncro trans the flywheel backplate and starter need to be the later style from 68 and newer. The pilot bush is the same .

    Re: Triumph TR4 in NC

The "bs au48 1965" has to do with a seat belt regulation. Post the commission number - VIN and the actual year can be determined. The DMV in NC wanted to issue a NC assigned serial number on my...

I was driving my 77 Maroon MGB when 2 E-type coupes went the other way. 10 minutes later a group including a Healey, MGB and TR6 plus more went by. I wonder where they were headed? Got a wave from...

Gold TR8 going the other way on Hwy 16 heading toward Waxhaw N.C. I was in the Citron BGT-V8. We exchanged waves!
  9. MGB Re: early transmission vs od transmission for 3 main engine

I think the distance from the pivot to the ball at the bottom is a different length. I have seen them used in early o/d boxes. Worth checking into. Maybe a call to Moss tech line is in order? Good...
  10. MGB Re: B engine sputters, stalls and restart in seconds

Agree on a fuel issue. If it was ignition then it would probably have a loud backfire thru the exhaust when it came back to life. Good luck with the repair!

MGB Re: Windshield Frame removal questions.

I have a 72 in the garage waiting for me to put a new windshield in. I am not pushing V.B. on the back order since the job sucks . I would also do 3 clutch jobs to one windshield if given the option.

MGB Re: Windshield Frame removal questions.

The screw should not be removed. It holds the spacer in place. If I recall correct 77 and newer is easier than the earlier padded dash cars. Still a bear of a job. I have a snap on 9/16-1/4" flex...

General Tech Re: Always Check the Fundamentals

    Mickey,
The fuse box is not normally a area that would effect the ignition system. Now if its been messed with or different than my 74 well maybe. On my 74 GT the power comes to the fuse box from...

If I am reading your description correct removing your slave cylinder will keep the car from rolling while in gear. I would guess the slave hose is clogged on the inside and blew out the piston on...

    Re: SP250 steering rack

If you are staying RHD then a RHD rack is needed if mounted in front of the suspension. I think if you just flip a LHD rack over the car will steer left when you turn right. That would be tough to...

MGB Re: Help with engine code question.

1980 engines had a steel engine number plate. That may be what you have. If you radiator hoses look to be from 77-80 then I would suspect a serial number swap on the car??? Not many people move the...

MGB Re: 1979 MGB coil w/ altered wiring

I do not mess with later MGBs but the earlier ones like my 74 have a resistor wire that runs to the front of the car and then back if I recall correct. I do not think you will find a "normal"...

  23. MGB Re: 1974 MGB- New main wiring harness, but no start

    William,
On a 74 there should be a starter relay on the firewall. Brown wire comes from the fusebox. Check for hot all the time on the brown at the relay. The seat belt interlock is behind the radio...
