  1. Re: A little "Stay-at-Home" Healey Nostalgia

Great story, Lin. They say never meet your heroes. Donald was the exception to that rule.

    Re: On the road again

Very nice bugeye. Funny how complaints about the bugeye's lack of a boot lid and the funny-looking headlamps is what caused the redesign into the Mk II and now are the features that make them...

Bugeye Sprite and boot lid???? Wha.....? Now we definitely need pictures.
  4. Re: Healey assembly line - engine installation

For point of comparison, this is the original jpeg that Jim Blohm submitted to Reid and me along with his article from his original slides. I'm guessing Kodachrome as well, as Paul Simon once said...
  5. Re: Congratulation To Healey Marque Magazine

Reid has done a great job lining up a steady group of contributors. It's not an easy task finding new and different stories about a marque that has been out of production for more than half a...

    Re: My BJ8 Barn Find

There's generally a reason cars were rolled into barns and it wasn't so some happy new owner could find them years later, change the gas in the tank and motor away. Usually, something broke and was...
  7. Re: Envirosafe R134a replacement refrigerant

One issue I haven't heard mentioned with Envirosafe is that since professional shops need a dedicated reclaiming machine for each type of refrigerant, they won't work on your system once you fill it...

So sorry to hear this. Must be particularly difficult to be without your partner in this period of isolation.

    Re: John Wheatley, R.I.P.

Try this, which is the whole program the Wheatley clip is taken from Start around 16:25 which will get you into the 100 history and the Wheatleys. Actually, the whole show is very good.

  12. Re: Envirosafe R134a replacement refrigerant

Been doing some reading on Envirosafe. Looks like it's been around for quite some time. Might be best for R12 conversions and some report that it's colder that R134a. My BMW conversion will be set...

Godspeed, John. He was an original 100 owner and this video really shows his love of the car.

TR2/3/3A » Re: Inner tie rod ball joint.

Can you wedge a pickle fork ball joint separator in there and drive it in far enough to provide tension? You may have to lever the pickle fork downwards to get enough tension.

    Re: Corona Virus Sanity

Most folks don't know how much work and planning go into putting a major Healey event together. Having to cancel all the activities, deal with refunds, broken contracts, etc is almost as much work...
  16. Re: Envirosafe R134a replacement refrigerant

Since I'm basically building the system from the ground up for 134a, guess I'll have to do some more research before it's time for the refrigerant fill.
  17. Re: Envirosafe R134a replacement refrigerant

I thought R134a was the environmentally safe replacement for Freon. What's the advantage to this? Am rebuilding an AC system for R134 in an 80s BMW and would be interested in what the latest...

    Re: Safety-wiring knock-offs

That's a Triumph GT6 top that was sectioned on. There's also an ACME top that looks similar (no relation to Wile E. Coyote)

  22. Re: “Healey: Cars for Speed & Glamour” Exhibition

Probably a Buick Master Six given to him as a wedding gift by his father in which he won a bronze medal in 1921 at a local trial in Truro. He raced Fiats, Invictas, Ariels and mostly Triumphs.
