  1. TR2/3/3A Re: Making your own steering wheel stator tube?

    41st photo.
  2. TR2/3/3A Re: Making your own steering wheel stator tube?

No. I was not talking about the photo Randall sent. I'm referring to a photo of the timing mark I saw in the collection of photos that CJD was kind enough to send when I was making stator tube...

    Anyone racing a TR3?

How much advance beyond the initial 4 degree setting are race prepped distributors set at ? I realize there are a lot of variables depending on modifications but I thought I read 8 degrees...
  4. TR2/3/3A Re: Making your own steering wheel stator tube?

That's a great series of photos. I wish I had had that as a reference when I was restoring my TR3. About that photo of initial timing....isn't that 3 degrees ATDC?

TR2/3/3A Re: The timing mark on the crank pulley....

Just speculating: Would a motor with a mild street cam and headers take 8 degrees advance?

    TR2/3/3A Re: Fuel gauge readings?

I had a friend who is really into electronics test the TR3 gauge and he determined that there was a dead short somewhere in the windings and that it would be a long painstaking process to try try and...

    TR2/3/3A Re: Fuel gauge readings?

I modified my fuel gauge to a the one used in a TR4 because I had one handy and the TR3 gauge had a dead short and was not functional. The TR4 gauge requires a voltage stabilizer so that only 10...

    TR2/3/3A Re: Fuel gauge readings?

The stabilizer I bought from Moss is the one upgraded to solid state. So your saying that it needs the full 12 volts to produce 10 volts output. I think my problem might be the battery itself. It sat...

    TR2/3/3A Fuel gauge readings?

I've installed a TR4 fuel gauge, sending unit and stabilizer in my TR3. I'm also running an alternator and voltage gauge. Battery has 12 volts. When I turn the key on to accessory the gauge needle...

TR2/3/3A The timing mark on the crank pulley....

Does anyone have a good picture of the crank pulley that shows TDC and the ideal BTDC mark for best performance?
  12. TR2/3/3A Making your own steering wheel stator tube?

Anyone done this and know the correct dimensions? Stainless steel???:emmersed:
  13. TR2/3/3A Re: Turn signal and control head memory refresh.....

Not sure what you mean by key on the head?
  14. TR2/3/3A Re: Turn signal and control head memory refresh.....

I think that is the issue here. For some reason the control head instead of sitting flush to the hub it is cocked on an angle about 5 degrees at the bottom so I don't think the grub screws are...
  15. TR2/3/3A Re: Turn signal and control head memory refresh.....

By gland do you mean the olive? I've removed the lock nut and olive at the steering box several times for various reasons . Is reusing the olive causing the issue. Is the purpose of the olive and...
  16. TR2/3/3A Turn signal and control head memory refresh.....

What causes the the control head assembly to turn along with the steering wheel???

    TR2/3/3A Dash Lights

Does anyone know what the size of the dash light bulbs are and if someone makes them in a green color? I don't like the white light for night driving.
  19. TR2/3/3A Re: Karl's ham handed adventures for your amusement in these trying times.

Yes there is a sort of curved brass piece that holds the steel disc in place. I'm going to form a thin strip of that malleable epoxy putty and wrap it around it around the bottom of the disc once my...
  20. TR2/3/3A Re: Karl's ham handed adventures for your amusement in these trying times.

The actual trunnions are brass but the very bottom 62728part(size of a 25 cent piece) that holds the grease zerk is actually a thin steel disc. Not stainless like I mentioned. I would never have...
  21. TR2/3/3A Re: Karl's ham handed adventures for your amusement in these trying times.

This grease gun coupler was solid. Didn't notice till it was on the zerk. An overseas piece of crap?
  22. TR2/3/3A Karl's ham handed adventures for your amusement in these trying times.

I was going to grease the trunnion with 00 lubriplate. The container came with a tube and grease fitting. Unfortunately I had lost the end fitting part that goes onto the grease zerk. It appeared to...

    TR2/3/3A Re: Tierod Dyslexia?

I ended up cutting the lock nut off the stem of the tie rod end with a dremel but damaged the threads. Still not being able to budge the tie rod "adjuster nut" I cut that off as well. I had a tie...
  24. TR2/3/3A Re: Isit possible to buy a single left hand thread tie rod end?

Do you mean a local non Big 3 parts supplier? I thought a TR3 tie rod end would be kind of an oddball part that they would not be likely to carry?
  25. TR2/3/3A Isit possible to buy a single left hand thread tie rod end?

I dremeled off the lock nut and need a new tie rod end. Moss only sells complete kits? Not sure about TRF. I guess most people just replace both but the ones on there still look good and are fairly...
