Re: Fraud is just theft with a smile

Scariest words at the quick-change oil place: "Could you come out here, sir, there's something I'd ike to show you."

This is a 5-year old video, Boss. I'm sure all the fraudsters have been put out of business by now.

Re: What to do about my wire wheels

Sprite wheels don't seem to be as susceptible to damage as the 15 inch wheels on big Healeys, because of the shorter spokes I think. At any rate, I'd check the splines as mentioned above and check...

    Monterey Auctions

Just got back from Monterey Car Week and it seemed to me the auction values were weak and not just for Healeys. This interesting article shows how bad it was: ...

    Vented Battery

While swapping the battery out of the trunk of my Chrysler 300C SRT8 to use temporarily in the Healey (long story), it struck me the Chrysler battery is vented to the outside of the car. With many...

Re: Who is going to step up and bid....

I'm lucky to afford a souvenir t-shirt. That Mustang is really beat. I don't think I could stand to see it in my garage without restoring it. Then it would look like 10,000 other Bullitt clones...

Re: Who is going to step up and bid....

I'm in Monterey now and checked out the 007 car yesterday. Gorgeous. Also announced yesterday was the upcoming sale at Mecum Kissimmee of the original "Bullitt" Mustang. Never thought I'd get so...
  10. Re: Help with 60 Bugeye - major drivetrain issue...

If you have a stock 948 motor, I don't think a 3.9 is a great idea. It's going to make a slow car slower, tougher to get up hills and require a lot more shifting. Stay with the 4.22.

    Re: '57 Healey Jamaican 327...

I can see sticking with the 3-liter lump if your race series requires it, but increased displacement and a lighter motor with more hp is the solution for a street car if you have ultimate performance...

Re: how to have music/radio when driving

Mercedes figured out how to put radios in their sports cars by the time they got to the 280SL. I picked up a Becker Europa II Stereo that came from a 280SL a number of years ago for $20 at a flea...

I have a Wizard in my Nasty Boy with Ford V8 power and have been very happy with it. The motor runs at a steady 195 degrees with a puller electric fan which is fine as the 5.0l generally runs at 205...

I Hate Those Meeces to Pieces!

While driving the Healey yesterday, feathers started coming out of the defroster event. After dropping the bottom off the heater box, I discovered a good-sized mouse nest crammed up inside. It...

    Steve,

Now that you've prevented going up in a ball of fire during a crash, probably time to address the javelin piercing you in the heart in a front-ender.
