Re: AH 3000 rear disc brake conversion

Yes, they worked fine until I felt I needed to rebuild the brake system after 12 years and I put in the wrong master cylinder. My new rebuild includes the correct MC. I have to look through my...

Re: AH 3000 rear disc brake conversion

When I installed my front and rear discs, I had a conversation with Denis Welch about the front/rear balance. He said with the 1.5" piston diameter rear calipers and the 2.125" piston front...

    Re: changing lock barrels

There is a pin under the cup that is held in place by those pinches. That's the "key" to getting everything apart. My friend replaced the pinches with tack welds to reassemble.

    Re: OCD rules, they're important...

We have a new two-way circuit with one switch that goes up-down, the other switch goes left-right.

Re: Gas cap parts now in tank

I don't recall: does the tank have a baffle between the filler pipe and sending unit? I would give the magnetic wand down the filler pipe a try.

I use the black round one my drill press. Helps keep track of the knobs.

    Re: Bonnet belt

If you have the ridge in your hood, the belt in front makes even more sense. Otherwise the paint will wear off the ridge quickly.

    Re: BN4 Longbridge flasher unit.

I totally agree (I've done mine). For years, I've had to work on someone else's system where they didn't update the drawings.

    Re: BN4 Longbridge flasher unit.

Is that supposed to make a 4-way flasher? That would explain the separate switch.
  21. Re: What's the Recommended REAR END oil gl Grade?

Reality check: Who disassembles their engine to change the oil?

Drain the oil, if it doesn't look like brown metal flake, refill it. If it looks like metal flake, maybe disassemble.
  22. Re: Loose Metal Knocking/Banging Sound during Rough Idle

You should also have a timing chain vibration dampener. A problem with it wouldn't affect the oil pressure.

    You Asked For It, Basil

A fly had a bug in its back.

    Fly: Are you a mite?

    Bug: I mite be.

Fly: That's the dumbest pun I've ever heard.

Bug: What do you expect? I made it on the fly.

Re: Seat Foams and recommended interiors?

I needed a fine adjustment of the height of the front of my seat. Since I have the wooden frame inside the metal base (BN4), I put a paint stirrer under the wooden frame.
