Re: '74 Midget - Heater Box Bolt Size?

Jim, I assume you mean 7/16" across the flats which would have 1/4" threads (1/4-28 UNF = fine). 7/16 threads would be awful large.

    General MG Re: stromberg carb

    Glad you found it.

I recently had problems with new diaphragms which were too stiff to roll smoothly. Then I bought good ones from Joe Curto.

Spitfire Re: Spitfire for the Win

Why is it that in any discussion of old British cars there will be someone who has to bring up engine swaps?

I smiled when one of the commenters talked about how unreliable the ignition systems...
  9. Re: Everyone knows you can restore a car in a week.

4 years ago my father-in-law was gifted a VW based kit car (Gazelle... "Mercedes"). The car had been parked in a warehouse for 20 years and really was a "ran when parked" car. He asked how long it...

You can also test the low-tension side of the ignition system.

Make up a test light. Connect one if its leads to coil (+), the other to coil (-). Crank the engine. The test lamp should flash on...

You took the head off and put it back on? Did you remember to adjust the valves. On pushrod engines the valve lash has to be set after a new head gasket is installed because not all head gaskets...

You said you have gas to the carbs but it may not be getting into the carbs.

Your first test should be to spray a shot of starting fluid into each carb throat and try again to start the engine. ...

    Re: Bugeye electrical questions

If the red light has been staying on, it means "something" is wrong and it needs to be checked. It won't correct itself.
