    Jim
I doubt there would be any damage to the mating faces of the diff to the axle. Everything that happened was inside and the faces would not have been exposed.
The question is what caused the...

Re: DIY Extension for Clutch Bleeding

SS bolts and nuts do not "slide" the same as mild steel, so you cannot use the same torque values. Also after awhile SS tends to gall and will be difficult to unbolt.

  7. Re: Help with 60 Bugeye - major drivetrain issue...

I ran my 948 at highway speecs with the 4.22 for years with no issues. Several runs from NY-Baltimore way back when I was younger. Even withthe 1275 I prefer the 4.22 due to the back road driving...
  8. Re: Help with 60 Bugeye - major drivetrain issue...

I used a piece of 1/4" rod, heavy hammer and vise plus a 1/4 20 nut die. Getting the correct width was a bit of a pain. I made one as a backup when working on springs incase I broke the original...
  9. Re: Help with 60 Bugeye - major drivetrain issue...

Bugeye guy gets $25 for the Ubolt as it is the only source unless you make your own. It is a very unique size and even if you find the correct width you would most likely need to add threads....

  15. Re: Help with 60 Bugeye - major drivetrain issue...

Also, You will need a block or something to lift the driveshaft out of the way when removing the diff. Make sure not to pull the driveshaft back or it could slip out of the transmission and putting...
  16. Re: Help with 60 Bugeye - major drivetrain issue...

You need to remove both axles. Disconnect drive shaft. Remove nuts from diff. Tap gently and then prize diff pit of axle assy.
You should be able to get the piece out of the splines pretty easily....

    Re: Tune Up Trouble

You need to hear the nice click when the piston drops down onto the bridge.
And all the pistons should slide down the chamber equally
  18. Re: Trying to find an accurate tyre pressure gauge

I am a little confused with this. LBCs are not NASCAR or F1 and the majority of us do not put our cars on the track. What is the concern with tire pressure accuracy. How much does it matter if we...
  19. Re: Help with 60 Bugeye - major drivetrain issue...

Not likely. With a locking rear both wheels will drive. Looking at your video again, I am not sure you have a broken axle. Usually the broken side will free wheel.
    Also, your description of the...

    Re: Bugeye pull starter

It is a stock starter or a GR unit. GR unit has a built in Solenoid/relay so there should not be a load on the pull switch.
If stock Lucas then the pull switch is at full motor draw. Could be a...
