    Re: Is this false advertising?

Might be no harm IF you stay on top of it and quickly cancel at the end of that period (and use one of your lesser credit cards in case of dispute).

Replaced the mother-board on ours a couple of years back (refrigerator too).

    Re: Rental Car

We last rented a car in Italy way back in 2005 or so... and I think it was a Peugeot too. That was mostly for driving in Tuscany (though picked up at the Venice airport, dropped off at the airport in...

    Re: Rental Car

I've always liked them... but if you need one worked one there are plenty of good mechanics, in France.

We rented on in the UK once (where they are much more common). Nice car, but essentially new.

    Re: LBCs, whatcha gonna do?

Thanks. I, too, have some chiropractor buddies. I've also have some MRIs and CTs done. Not pretty either.
For a herniated disc (which I have on one side - L5/S1) I do the "MacKenzie" maneuver, which...

In my own case, I learned some PT actions that I can do myself... and completely avoided surgery. I also use a serious lumbar support in all cars.

I have his email here somewhere (though that was from 2016) and can try to find it if you like.
    Hope he's OK.

My dad came through in 1939. He figured that he'd see the Statue of Liberty first, but he said the "Wrigley's Gum" sign was first up. :wink-new:

    Re: Is this false advertising?

A friend bought a used BMW (through Craigslist) and, get this, the car came with a life-time membership to said Dog Star! He's been using it now for at least 5 years (free).

    Re: OCD rules, they're important...

Australia got rid of pennies (rounding to the nearest nickel many years ago). Smart move.
Interestingly, I think they still allow the use of pennies in pricing but everything is rounded up or down....

Did that one in high school to a friend's Volvo. Another "friend" managed to get an incense stick in that same car... which burned all day. It took MONTHS to get that smell out of the car.

    Re: New Prank

A really sneaky trick I've heard of (for cars) is to us a zip-tie on an axle... leaving the long end to flap. As the axle turns it creates a ticking sound. Easy to fix, once it's figured out.
