  1. Re: Please help --- New owner of a 1958 Austin Healey Sprite

Check the plugs. If they are fouled, put in a clean set and see how it runs. Then check them again and see if they indicate a problem.

    Re: BE Steering Rack-Leaking 90w

Jim, you are overthinking it. Pump some cornhead grease into when it stops leaking. I honestly do not know how much. If you give it a few pumps when you lube everything else it will be fine. I...

I prefer to use socket head bolts on those. And use anti-seize.
  6. Re: Ideas on tires for Bugeye with 13x6" wheels

Your tire wall will bulge out beyond the rim lip as well. Most likely you will need a wheel spacers, longer wheel studs, and a panhard bar.

    Re: Bonnet hinge holes

Was the fender replaced due to accident damage or rust? I'm wondering if your hinges are tweaked.

    Re: Leaking 5-speed drain plug

Back to the original problem of a crack around the drain plug. I once repaired on of these by jb welding an adapter/reducer into the drain fitting. Now the oil takes longer to drain but it seems it...

Re: How could someone do this?

I recently sent a 1970 car body to the scrap heap. It had been very poorly repaired from an accident and rust. There was not a decent panel on it and no real means to salvage it. However, the...

Re: Carpet going in the bugeye

The trick : perform an "emergency stop" from about 40 mph in a parking lot, then most all loose things can be collected with only a shallow dive into the boot. ;)

Re: Bugeye Radiator Tank Plug Size?

Where did you buy the sensor that fits into the radiator? In my case, my cheapo aluminum radiator had 3/8 NPT threads so several aftermarket sensors matched but when I had a stock radiator i had...

Re: Bugeye Radiator Tank Plug Size?

Rut, it is 19tpi. And 18tpi gauge almost fits because of the different angle. Try a 19 tpi and see if it fits better.

Re: Bugeye Radiator Tank Plug Size?

I'm not saying that they are made wrong. I'm saying they told you the wrong size of the bung. Your measurements are consistent with 3/8" BSPP. If your OEM style temperature gauge fits in the...

Re: Bugeye Radiator Tank Plug Size?

At least when someone finds this thread at a latter date they will know to verify.
If your OEM radiator bung has an inner diameter is 0.562, then it is clearly NOT 1/2" BSPP as Serck described it....

OK, so you are telling me that the threads (major diameter) on your temp sender are .825 inches?
    All mine are .656 inches.

    .656 inches is the...
