Re: Stgeering column height adjustment on BN2?

Seems like it's adjustable. There are adjustment slots on the steering box attachment that allow it to pivot up and down, and the collar that holds the column under the dash is fastened through one...

    Re: Water Pump Leak

If the bearings are already the sealed variety, you won't need to grease them further. If you take off the pulley, you should be able to see a snap ring that holds down a grease shield. If you take...

    Re: Water Pump Leak

If yours is newly sourced, it'll have the bellows style seal. You may be able to replace it fairly easily if you can press off the impeller.
I engineered a solution for mine, but it's an OE pump...
  4. Re: Differences between BN2 and BN4 speedometer gears??

^ Seconded. Have heard nothing but good about West Valley, my brother-in-law uses them for his business.
  5. Re: Differences between BN2 and BN4 speedometer gears??

These two gauges are calibrated for different rear end ratios. The numbers 1325 and 980 are their TPM numbers (turns per mile). If looking to just swap the face over, you'll want to look for a 1325...
  6. Re: Differences between BN2 and BN4 speedometer gears??

What are the two part numbers on the faces? Should be SNXXXX/XX.

Re: BN1 Front Shroud Badge - What is original?

Each of these appears a little different. The first one is the one I have, which I think is a re-pop.

BN1 Front Shroud Badge - What is original?

No responses on the other board, trying my luck here.
Does anyone know how to distinguish original style winged shroud badges? The one I have is likely a new replacement, the back of it is solid,...

    Re: Help ID gearbox/bellhousing?

Right, that's what I figured, clearance for the starter pinion gear.
I found two stamped numbers on the cast iron case.

    Maybe these mean something?

    Re: Help ID gearbox/bellhousing?

    Thanks, TOC.
I took a few more shots this morning, pardon the blurriness in a few of them.
I think I'll try and get the aluminum bits off, then de-rust the entire assy with electrolysis. Should be...

    Re: Help ID gearbox/bellhousing?

I'll check when I get home. Other than the C700-1 shown above?
The issue is that the starter recess is in a strange spot, I don't think it'd fit a standard XK block.
I had a response from another...

    Help ID gearbox/bellhousing?

    Hi,
I have an old Moss gearbox with a strange bellhousing and tailshaft mounting/extension. I got it from a guy who recently parted with an XK140 project, but I don't think it's 140. Closest I can...

I used that manual to rebuild one of mine, went from nothing to a beautiful, loud tone. It's not that hard of a project if you want to get into it.
