    Re: Bondo problem

Fingernail polish remover is acetone with a fragrance; hardware store might be cheaper, without the nice smell (you don't want to smell acetone anyway!!)
  2. Re: I Did It! - Got All Three Into the Garage

Might want some dollies for the middle car. If it is light enough the cheapies at Harbor Freight will work, otherwise you'll want some better bearings on the wheels.

    Re: Bondo problem

Ugh. Heat, maybe; using a heat gun? (Watch out it does not catch fire / do in an open area / have water and fire extinguisher nearby!!!) I am not sure what dissolves bondo; the infowebs suggest...

    Re: Oh Waiter!

An Irishman, an Englishman and a Scotsman go into a pub and each order a pint of Guinness. Just as the bartender hands them over, three flies buzz down, and one lands in each of the pints.

Re: When did Google Maps become so faint?

Fully agree... google maps on the phone is really for getting directions. A paper road atlas is for looking at and studying.

But I'd say google maps are like "listening" to the room through the...

Re: When did Google Maps become so faint?

That is what I did... Amazon. Great road trip piece - I rarely/never use it to navigate, but use it all the time to tell me where I am. (Does that make sense? Google Maps on the iphone is way more...

You print google maps? Is that not the worst of both worlds :)

Sorry, could not resist, in light of previous polite debates on ipads vs paper books!

I have not printed from google maps in...

  13. Re: Miracle on the Hudson? How about Miracle in the Pacific

I did not watch the films, yet, but read the Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan_Am_Flight_6

Basically, the crew knew they were in trouble at 1:30 AM, and doomed around 2:45 AM. Yet...

Agreed; we could add the hand-clutch and transmission of a Lambretta / Vespa to the list as well!! (I think the Lambretta has a hand-operated gearshift??) As well as the acute awareness of a riding...

Think the back wheel appears level with the rest. Doesn’t look professional... but at the end of the day she or he is driving a lovely car while I am not :)
  21. TR2/3/3A » Re: TR3 clutch release bearing... from Home Depot?

Scroll down the page and be happy you do not drive a Saab. Throwout bearing for 1986-1990 900 is 76.41, vs. 18.91 for the TR!

I am all for inspections. But I just wish they give the inspectors some leeway in decisions... As Rick mentions, old cars won't work as well as new, and they are not driven in the same conditions...
