TR4/4A Re: Recommendation on top for a late TR4A

Yes, that's the formula. Out-of-state trips seem to begin and end with a couple of long days in the sunshine. I also have a zip-out on the E-Type for the same reason.

TR4/4A Re: Recommendation on top for a late TR4A

Mine's a TR4 but I'll mention it anyway -- can't imagine being in the Southwest w/o a zip down rear window. Okay, pretty useful anywhere I suppose:

Maybe time for these (or just make your own):

  5. General TR Re: Hertitage certificate: factory record has not survived

Never heard of this problem but I suppose it is inevitable as (if I recall correctly) they are using a copy from a microfiche of a hand-written card that was affixed to the vehicle as it went down...

General TR Re: Moss Motors acquires Victoria British

Moss also recently acquired a big (possibly the biggest) U.S. Jaguar parts supplier, XKs Unlimited.

TR2/3/3A Re: TR3 sag to the left (port sag)

If you do have a broken spring it is possible to replace the spring w/o removing the axle of diff. How easy that is mostly depends on how easily the bolt on the front spring eye comes out.

TR2/3/3A Re: TR3 sag to the left (port sag)

If this came on suddenly - I would be suspecting a broken spring. Know that the spring can break in a spot you can't easily see.

TR4/4A Re: Brake / Clutch Fluid for TR-4A

As I recall Castrol won a legal battle that allows them (and anyone) to label a brake fluid (and other products) 'synthetic' since synthesis simply means 'the production of chemical compounds by...

    TR4/4A Re: Hylomar substitute

Hylomar offers more than one formulation -- I prefer the one without a solvent in it. Hopefully that is the formula that the Permatex product resembles.

    TR4/4A Re: Starter dog bolt

I suspect they persisted with a hole because the pressing for the valence didn't change and forms the lower half of the opening.

    TR6 Re: LED Headlights Thoughts?

For me that is a drawback. The main use of my headlamps are daytime driving (long 2-lane highways in the desert) and the white of the LEDs is harder for oncoming drivers to pick up than the...

    TR6 Re: LED Headlights Thouights?

I guess TR6's don't have a headlamp relay? TR4s didn't and I added a pair to eliminate the tendency for the switch to double as a hand warmer. Later I went with LEDs.

    TR2/3/3A Re: Overdrive Wiring

Correct, the diode goes from C2 to ground -- of course 'from C2' means anywhere on that yellow/purple wire.
