    Re: Battery Fuse Protection

After further reading and further study, I'm still doing nothing. But carry on fellas. I enjoy reading the dialogue.

    Re: Spin-oil filter, which filters?

I run the K&Ns with a brake servo and have no problem getting the filter on and off. I'm not sure where you guys are finding those two different part numbers. I don't see either on the page that...

Re: Tube vs Tubeless discussion :)

Tubeless 72 spoke chrome Daytons here. No problems, but they do need air once or twice a year.

I bought the K&N. I'll try the Wix too.

Actually, it said "updated in period", not to period.

Mertopolisman, if, after reading John's very carefully written explanation above you are still confused about what to do, please stop and seek professional, or at least experienced help with your...

Re: How to clean a cloth wiring harness

This is how it has been done for decades. While it is out, take the time to closely examine all of the end connections and replace any that look questionable. Be careful not to cut back any of them...

    Re: Healey Prices

For a long time people predicted a big surge in TR6 prices on the grounds that the other two popular and once "affordable" six cylinder British sports cars, the E-Type and Healey 3000, had shot up...

    Re: Healey Prices

The values have been steady overall for the BJ-8. Is that a sign that we have seen the top of the market? As always, we start with market demand. How many buyers are there for how many cars? In...

    Re: Battery Fuse Protection

I find this discussion very interesting. A lot of thought has gone into this. While I do not agree with the original poster's sense of need for such protection, I heartily endorse his research into...

Re: I've Gone To The Dark Side

Good selection. I've owned a Honda S2000 since 2002. I love that thing and will never sell it. The latest Miata is certainly tempting, though. I love the body styling and the engine is now...

Re: 65 BJ8 Front Single Lamps

I'm not really sure you could tell if it was one harness or the other. The earlier one light cars have three wires going to each fixture while the two light cars have only two wires each. So if the...

    Re: Tire pressure again

My contribution to this thread was to point out that those who are seeking a perfect pressure should get a good pyrometer and measure tire surface temperature. The basic goal is to inflate the tires...

    Re: Tire pressure again

Quality, calibration, features and accuracy. You can pay $100s for a really good pyrometer. The unit I posted is a unit of good quality at a price that isn't out of reach. You not only want...

    Re: Tire pressure again

If it is that important to you, buy a pyrometer. You can use it on all your cars and find the pressure that results in even friction across your entire tread on all four tires.

    Re: BJ8 Float Level

This is very interesting. I don't think I have ever done any of this. I always relied on setting the float height and that was that. I imagine this allows you to set the jets almost the same on...

Hurricane, this thread is six and a half years old. I'm guessing the original poster has already dealt with this problem.

Call Hendrix Wire Wheels. This is what Allen does. He will ask you a lot of questions to isolate the problem and he will know how well those drums are balanced from the supplier.

Re: Heavy Tapping low in the Engine

The sound you describe and the engine running strong negates the likelihood of broken rings. A wrist pin is a possible problem.

    Re: Bloody "bleeding" issue

Air gets stuck in funny places. Try bleeding at each juncture and fitting. Caution...this can get brake fluid on your paint. Protect the area first. Have a helper pump. Open the fitting,...
