TR2/3/3A Re: such strange thread on gear shift knob

Thanks Keith but $16.95 + shipping is crazy $ (I realize that they have to recoup their labor producing them) and I have a brass nut that I can re-drill and tap so I think that I'll go that route. ...

TR2/3/3A Re: such strange thread on gear shift knob

I have a tap and thought I'd try to reithread a 7/16-20 jam nut. I think the originals (or Amco) are chrome.

I don't mind the pattern not lining up but hate driving with a loose shift knob under...

Looking for a 7/16-32 jam nut if anyone knows of a source.

I tried ultra thin electronics nuts that fit but they're too thin and don't hold.

TR2/3/3A Re: Dang! Clutch slipping in 5th

Thanks John. I just have to get to it; I have too many pre-winter chores to do right now. I can still drive it OK, just not too far and avoid uphills in 5th. Otherwise perfect. Thanks again. I'll...

TR2/3/3A Re: Dang! Clutch slipping in 5th

I adjusted the M/C rod yesterday, clutch still works fine, but the rod WAS too tight. Test drive I punched the accel in each gear, all tight except once in 5th same uphill as before, the revs...

    TR2/3/3A Re: Windscreen galss replacement

I've heard that using to top corner of the the windshield frame as a handle to extract oneself from the car WILL result in such a crack. I respectfully warn my passengers.

TR2/3/3A Re: Dang! Clutch slipping in 5th

Still on hold waiting for Kubota parts to fix my 3-point hitch. Tractor is in my shop so the 3A is patiently waiting for it's turn for it's mechanic (me).

First thing I'll attack on the 3A is the...

TR2/3/3A Re: Dang! Clutch slipping in 5th

First thing I checked was the pedal return spring. It's good. Then tested freeplay using my hand to depress the clutch and it felt normal, hasn't changed but calls out to be verified regardless. The...

TR2/3/3A Re: Dang! Clutch slipping in 5th

I ordered a couple of front seals and front cover gaskets to replace when I pull the (W58 Toyota) gearbox. Flywheel is TR4A as is clutch cover (pressure plate). It is adjusted so it disengages high...

TR2/3/3A Dang! Clutch slipping in 5th

Noticed the revs increasing going up a hill in 5th so I babied it home for 10 miles. Looks like I might have oiled the disc but I haven't put it up on the lift yet to investigate. Clutch fluid is at...

    TR4/4A Re: Surrey backlight seal

It's the same seal as TRF just assembled correctly to the proper length although I haven't installed the window because the car is still in primer. So it looks like a good fit at this stage.

TR2/3/3A Re: 59 TR3A Clutch Master Cylinder Failure

The TR pushrod length is 4-1/2" so you might need to swap your pushrod into this new one. And if your output pipe is flat rather than angled like this one, a slight bend will fix that. Just rebuilt...

    TR4/4A Re: Surrey backlight seal

New seal came from Rimmer today. It's a closed surround (even though their website photo show an un-joined length,) and looks like the same supplier as the TRF seal.
But one big difference - the...
