    Re: Door ding!

If you go with taking the fender off: make a pillowcase out of suede leather (shoemaker, if you can find
one to stitch it) and I found a cheap piece of suede at Tandy. Fill it 1/2 with sand. Press...

You won't be happy with the Retrosound anyway. At least I'm not. Doesn't pick up stations very well.

Re: OverHeating Problem & Plan of Attack...

You can test the thermostat by heating it up with water in a pan. I always do before installing even a
new one. A head gasket can cause overheating. I don't think you said where the oil was coming...

Re: I値l take two if you have them

That's Nigerian money. Converts to $150.00 US dollars. I just bought it. Just have to send him the
$100.00 down payment. Then he will prepare to send the car. Guess I really made out.
  10. Re: Metal prep of chassis after repairs and shot blasting

Been doing body work and paint for 45 years. Use a product called OSPHO. Apply really light and let it cure (2-3 days).
It will now be protected from rust till you wan't to paint. Rub off the "dust"...

Re: Squeak from rear of BJ8

While your at it, you might want to replace the radius arm bushings if they never were. The
steel bushings can seize to the pins and damage the rubber. I had a set squeak once. Your
    job could be...

    Re: Healey Prices

I'm not so sure I was wrong after all. Remember when Model A's were the big thing? Well,
the old car prices are proportional to who want them. Right now we got the bucks and
    when we were young we...

    Healey Prices

What the heck is happening to the sale prices on our cars? I have noticed
they have been going down and down. Didn't buy mine in order to sell it
but this is worrisome. I see a nice 65 on Ebay...

Re: Painting a BJ8 Radiator - any advice?

Hi-Temp header/exhaust manifold paint at Autozone, they have the primer too. I wouldn't do much sanding,
just an etch with Ospho or even Naval Jelly

Re: 65 BJ8 Front Single Lamps

We could be quibbling about mute facts. These cars were built with virtually no quality
control, and considering a model change to phase 2 and being near a new year.
    I'll bet a dollar to a dime...

Re: 65 BJ8 Front Single Lamps

I am not sure as to the front lens color. I never changed it and the prior owner never mentioned it.
I have seen a lot of 65 pictures and it seems to be about 50-50 clear and amber. I do know
    the...

Re: BJ8 plus 55mph Front end shaking

Looks like the next step would be to pull the driveshaft out of the tranny and run it on the stands.

Re: BJ8 wiring diagram in ladder logic

    Re: Starter

I am surprised that no one has picked up on the "rebuilt engine" clue. Sounds to me like that motor is
tight, and once it's hot it gets even tighter. Having the starter rebuilt won't hurt, however...
