    Re: First ride in LBC

Got rides in MG T series and Jags as a child just outta diapers, my dad had friends who ran Cumberland and other racing events. Can't remember for certain the first ride. But as posted in Elliot's...

Re: Getting even in parking lots...

An even less benign incident than the valve stem one occurred while in the USAF. First Wife had a '67 MGB-GT, "Resale Red" and in beautiful condition. On a trip to the auto parts store, I parked it...

    MGB Re: Troubleshooting Mikune carb

Good news! Congrats to you both.

And once you've been into a thing like that, it becomes more understandable and less a "box-o-tricks." I'd bet you could easily transition the knowledge to Weber...

Re: Getting even in parking lots...

Returning from military service, I'd been able to keep a couple "survival" knives I'd flown with. "Safety orange" pocket-knife sized, with a button that released a parachute shroud hook. Gave one to...

    MGB Re: 1967 MGB seats

The back-and-forth adjusters & tracks are the only difference on the early cars. Those tracks with the "notches" go to the outsides of the seats, as do the adjustment mechanism attached to the seats....

    Re: New 'side project'

Lid in final primer, drawers removed. Got a bonus! Four pennies and a hex nut from a Porsche C.I.S. system in the case underneath the drawers. Now the project is on hold while I configure a client's...

Re: First ride in a LBC

My "enlightenment" came early, I was a toddler and Dad had pals who ran hillclimbs. One with an MG-TC, another with an XK-120. I got rides in both. The Confirmation came at about age 13, when the...

Re: First ride in a LBC

That kinda thing could ruin the kid for life!

    I'm proof positive, Elliot!
  13. MGB Re: Swapping to dual SU on later MGB with brake booster

Looking from the carb side, the angled port with the plug on the right side appears to be a good take-off for the booster.

ISTR that was one of the first to go in, along with the "When all else fails..." Dymo label above it. Literally half a century ago. And there's an Auto World decal on the right side of the box, it...

    New 'side project'

I've an old Craftsman toolbox, first one I'd bought fifty years ago. Beat up from being hauled around in all the LBC's and Alfas we've had, as the 'traveling kit'. I've repaired it once, painted it...

    Re: Really Little LBC

Love the dedication, Dave. I've only an inkling as to the time and effort going into that. One uncle was an HO scale fan, built a scaled copy of our neighborhood, made the houses from manilla folders...
  24. Re: Fastest Roller-coast... Ferrari in Abu Dhabi

Last 'coaster ride for me was "The Hulk" IIRC, a decade ago at Universal Orlando. Da 'mits won some VIP passes in a radio contest. meh. Not much of a "thrill" IMHO. I've been 'wrung out' in aircraft...
  25. MGB Re: Swapping to dual SU on later MGB with brake booster

If the SU manifold is a 12H1398 it has a blanking plug at the front, suitable for fitting a booster line.
