    Re: Spring Has Sprung

Nice, Doug. Spring blooming is about the only thing I miss about living further north.

We had our "blooming season" early last month. Oak pollen everywhere, the cars had a green haze on 'em even...

Re: Bletchley Park - WW2 film

Intriguing, Tom. We're finally getting a better "picture" of the secret stuff that contributed to winning that war. P.O. Box 1142 is another bit of the puzzle.
  10. Re: Contemplating my own mortality - but not because of Covid (at least not directly

Fairly organized with fasteners, but I do have a small jar with all sorts of metric ones, from small machine screws to various sizes of nuts 'n bolts. I've adopted a name for it that came from an...

    TV "car guys"

Just watched some guy discover to his apparent surprise it's possible to drive a "sports car" (Miata in this case) in winter conditions. We drove MGB's year 'round, beginning from the late '60's, out...

In high school, I had two years with Latin-1. Similarly, saw no practical use for it in real life, had no intention to become a clinician. With math, algebra, geometry and the final semester...

"Too many tools"?? I don't understand that at all. But doing a task to a higher standard rather than a simply acceptable one is perfectly understandable. A few years ago when doing some drywall work...

Funny, that. My dad met his cousin on the Normandy shore the day after D-Day, same scenario but sadly no photo. They didn't see one another again until back home.
