    Had this symptom with a car years ago....turned out to be a small rub on the hard line. It wouldn’t leak petrol when stopped, so was a joy to find.

    Tacho picks up a pulse via the dizzy/coil. Would start there and look for loose or dirty connections.
    You may find that the problem is in the dial.

    Pull the plugs and place your thumb over no1 cylinder and turn the motor over...you will know that you are on the compression stroke...unless you want to remove the rocker cover.

    Most English cars did not come from the factory with mirrors....they were fitted mostly by the selling dealers.
    you may purchase a mirror that fits to the side glass if you have them!

    You need to adjust the rear brake shoes...if you have front shoes do the same.
    Start bleeding at the cylinder the most away from the master and follow until you finish at the closest.
