    You Asked For It, Basil

A fly had a bug in its back.

    Fly: Are you a mite?

    Bug: I mite be.

Fly: That's the dumbest pun I've ever heard.

Bug: What do you expect? I made it on the fly.

Re: Seat Foams and recommended interiors?

I needed a fine adjustment of the height of the front of my seat. Since I have the wooden frame inside the metal base (BN4), I put a paint stirrer under the wooden frame.

    Re: Towards better brake performance....

One thing to keep in mind if you can no longer lock the brakes: If you fit stickier tires than the old Road Speed tires, it requires more braking to overcome the increased tire grip.

    Re: BJ8 Adjusting valve clearance

There is no requirement to adjust the valves in that sequence, it's just that they go fully closed in that sequence.

    Re: Intake manifold drain pipes

The last time I had a 3,000 RPM idle, it was a small bit of gasket caught in the throttle plate.

    Re: one less fortress

I have a friend who loves flying in the Ford Trimotor of about 1929 vintage. I suspect it's not as highly stressed, but at 90 years old, that's a lot of time for an aircraft.

    Re: Removing bn4 bonnet

To remove mine, I removed the pins in the hinges under the dash. No indexing required. I'm not sure if it's standard, but my pins are held in place by cotter pins.

    Re: BN2 wheel cylinders/rebuild/replace?

Not with drum brakes, but with discs, I've found rebuild kits to be better.

Re: Did I Do The Right Thing?

Yes, Doug, you did the right thing. I'm the Membership guy for our Club and we really need to know why people leave. Hopefully, we can do something about it.

Still have the Erector Set. Red metal box.

Moved on to chemistry lab in college. A couple of the guys were trying to make LSD.

    Re: Positive ground radio

I recall hearing that the shift and pedal patterns were standardized with the Austin 7.

    Re: Positive ground radio

I've driven a RHD Ford in the UK. The shift pattern in a RHD car is the same as in a LHD car. Making it the reverse would require a mirror image transmission.

    Re: Positive ground radio

The "dial" doesn't look like our regular AM or FM dials. I wonder if it is for European frequencies?
