62234There is a 3/4" gap at the very top of the vertical weather strip. I do not get rain into the car while driving . BUT during washing I do get water in from the seal at the top of the window....

    TR2/3/3A Re: Gaskets

As for the valve cover gasket, I have been using a silicone gasket now for about 20 years on one car and 10 or so on a second car. All with great results and NO sealers. The only drawback is that...
  4. TR2/3/3A Re: Advise on previously botched front end lower fulcrum support bracket.

    Karl,
You are looking at one point of the front suspension. I would have guess that the one point that you are looking at is not the primary problem , but rather that is where the misalignment...

    TR2/3/3A Re: TR3 Timing Chain

A number of years ago I bought a TR4A as a parts car. The previous owner had started working on the engine and quit. The body was in very rough shape as it was previously located in Buffalo, New...

    TR2/3/3A Re: TR3 Timing Chain

I have TRF parts ( including timing chains and gears) in my rebuilt TR4 engines. One engine has roughly 20,000 miles while the other has about 10,000 miles. Both are doing just fine.

TR2/3/3A Re: Steering box fluid again....

As much as it takes to fill the tube and steering box to bring the level up to the hole in the column. Are looking for a "quantity " answer ? As most of us are topping it up quantity does not...
  8. TR2/3/3A Re: Is it possible to buy stronger springs for turn signal lever in control head?

    Bob,
It sounds like you are more into this than most of us ever get. But isn't the return action a function of the stem that fits down into the tube that goes down the steering column? If that...

TR2/3/3A Re: Carpet and upholstery installation

    Art,
When covering the dog leg piece did you work the leather until it formed over the metal and only then apply glue? Was the material then cool and dry before the glue went on?

TR2/3/3A Re: Clutch through out fork misaligned

If you use a 1/4" bolt with a washer on each side of the tranny box and a nut you will effectively close off the hole and prevent grease getting out or dirt getting in.

TR2/3/3A Re: Clutch through out fork misaligned

Not a favorable result. The pin for the fork is offset ( not centered) and would therefore not allow even a close fit.

TR2/3/3A Re: Clutch through out fork misaligned

    David,
I encountered the same problem a few weeks ago using a TR6 tranny with a TR3 clutch setup. As John says the locating bolt on the pax side is the problem. I found that changing the bolt from...

    TR6 Re: 5 speed conversion

I have converted one TR3 and 2TR4s to the HVDA Toyota 5 speed trannys. Most of my driving is open road with a fair mix of freeway. It is so great to reduce the rpm's even in town or on the freeway....

You stated that you had good clearance previously. If the above suggestions do not produce the desired clearance, I would suggest that you loosen the tub from the frame and use some device to spread...

TR2/3/3A Re: technique for installing a door

It is more work. But if you are concerned about new paint and willing to go the extra mile. You could make up a set of threaded pins to go into the A post, one top and one bottom and set/ slide the...

TR2/3/3A Re: problem just rebuilt SU carbs

Yes, there are a hundred or more ways to assemble them wrong and only one way to assemble them right. This keeps us on our toes.
    Just don't give up.

TR6 Re: Accident damage or known problem area?

It sounds like you have some reasonable measurements of how far off it is.
I had to straighten the front shock tower on a TR 3 frame. I used a hydraulic kit borrowed from a friend. Plus a torch...

TR2/3/3A Re: Scuttle uneven on one side

TR2/3/3A Re: Questions on fuel pump installation

    Bob,

  25. TR2/3/3A Re: Can someone confirm size and thread count on fuel line tube nuts (brass fittings)

I have a new 1/4" tube nut from TRF. IT is identical to the one in Gene's picture, with the extension below the threads. So it looks like either source provides the same item.
    Good to hear that...
