  1. Re: So I guess I don't need to lay off the churros after all

I sure would be too. The transmission/prop-shaft tunnel is a critical player in the stiffness of a Sprite.

    Re: Paperless!

My wife is fanatical about it... and keeps nudging me to go paperless. I am moving that way. However, even with on-line/email reminders of bills, I don't like losing paper-reminders for credit cards...

    Nice blurb on FUEL WASH...

I have always warmed up an SU-carb-based car (and, frankly, had to so-as to get the car running nice), but with fuel injection:

    Re: Electric car owners?

    One thing nobody has mentioned:
    1) where does the power to charge these come from (coal, hydro-electric, nuclear, ???)
    2) what is the large "cost" of manufacturing and recycling batteries.

    Re: Electric car owners?

Following up on my post about the Fiat 500e... the best thing about those city-cars is that they underwent MASSIVE depreciation. An original low mileage $30K car could be had $10K (that was just a...

And speaking of electric cars... will the software be owned by the owner (or will be it more like a Microsoft lease of your operating system)!
    Check THIS out.

    Re: Electric car owners?

I also have a friend with the Fiat "500e" (and is a mechanic) and he loves it... but only for a short-trip city driver. Small and easy to use.
Interestingly, it has heated seats and steering! I...

    Re: Electric car owners?

The Audi checks in with a reliable 205 miles (though obviously that's a function of how the car is used). I think that will prove to be too little except for a "local" car.
    300 miles will be a...

    Re: Electric car owners?

Was given an Audi E-tron as a one-day loaner (while my Q5 had some recall stuff done). It was amazing. A 402hp SUV with gobs of bells and whistles... but, about $85K.
It was probably the best sales...

    Country Mailbox

This is clever (and would not only work for baseball bats outside but fireworks on the inside). Easy to make too!

    Re: Godspeed, Orson Bean

Always found him amusing (in my youth). Was reading, though, that he was really into all the nonsense "Orgone" theory stuff (of Wilhelm Reich). Now THAT is amusing pseudo-science.

    Anyway, a sad...

  23. Re: Confirmation That the Collector Car Market is NUTS!

The Toyota 2000GT (1967?) has been in the stratosphere for a long time now... but they are rare. Easily over a MILLION!
  24. Re: Confirmation That the Collector Car Market is NUTS!

Was just reading this at BaT (on a Sprite sales page):

"In fairness to our sellers and bidders, we have extended this auction one hour to account for the temporary spike in server load we...
  25. Re: Confirmation That the Collector Car Market is NUTS!

In statistics this is a fine example of an outlier. LOL
There's something "funny" about all this (though stupid might also be at work).

Anyway, my dad had one of the first ones imported in 1970....
