    Re: Diesel Mercedes

I owned a '70 220D with a four speed for about a year. Bought cheaply with a parts car. Was my daily driver during that time. I even auto-x'd it! Mine was quite reliable but it became tough to start...

Interesting collection he bought. Never heard about this even though they were sourced from my neck of the woods.

Spitfire Re: Questions About My Latest Spitifre

I only suspected it because both tempature and gas gauge seemed to be reading too low. I think the key is both are wrong for the stabilizer to be suspect. If your temperature gauge works fine then it...

Spitfire Re: Questions About My Latest Spitifre

I recently bought a slightly ratty Spitfire as well. I had the same issue with my fuel gauge but also the temperature gauge seemed to only read up to a 1/4 as well. The voltage stabilizer was at...

Re: 1959 Jensen 541R for auction

Wow! Looks like it was stored at the bottom of a pond for a decade or three. Probably if they presurred washed the exterior it would look less dire. Still a massive undertaking.

    In that last...

    Re: Austin Sheerline Project

What a fantastic project! I suspect you hot rod version is probably going to be the most cost effective way of getting it back on the road.

I think that distinctive VW engine noise would be a big turn off. Still I bet its a pile of fun to drive.

The front end reminds me strongly of a Healey Westland. Interesting if a little lumpy design.

    Re: Bronco II / Explorer

Bronco IIs can have over heating issues - the heads can crack on the 2.9L version. I wouldn't too anything with one though - too short.
  24. Re: And now for something COMPLETELY different......

Thanks for that link - they have some interesting cars. Very different selection too.
  25. Re: And now for something COMPLETELY different......

The other car is a Vespa 400 micro car. The last photo shows quite a few micro cars under cover. Interesting collection.
