    Re: DNA tests

I had my DNA tested more than a decade ago as part of my research in genealogy. At that time private DNA testing was almost exclusively done to find matches to other individuals. This testing was...

    Re: Temperature Sensor Removal

That's a significant error. However, if you are going to throw the bad gauge out, throw it to me!

If you are planning on keeping the gauge for future repair, try the DIY method shown in the link...

General MG Re: Field find restoration question ...

I will add that in spite of the engine having an MG labeled valve cover, it is a small bore Mini engine. Having been left out in a field with two missing spark plugs in the head, the bores will be...

    Welcome Barney.

Like many who have already posted, I met you at a car show a few years ago. In my case, the NC MG Car Club's annual show in Raleigh. I look forward to your posts on this board.

Re: Visited a Local Hospital today...

I've seen a lot of Amazon 1-star reviews where people are upset that some common item they would NEVER ingest or handle a lot carries the California Prop 65 warning. Some things just seem to go too...

Re: Dropped Bolt or Anything Small

My worst experience was with the Mini. I dropped a nut which disappeared. I took the car on a test drive only to find the nut had dropped into an opening in the shift mechanism jamming it in 2nd...

    Re: Sprite Petronix Electronic Ignition

I have had a Crane failure.

I had the Crane/Alison ignition on the GT6 for years. I washed the engine bay one day. The remote amplifier got water in it and failed. You could say getting water...

    Re: Sprite Petronix Electronic Ignition

They are saying to not use solid (wire) core spark plug wires. They want you to use resistor wires. Resistor wires typically have a center that looks like it is made up of a bunch of carbon fibers....

    Spitfire Re: gps speedometer

That's the first time I have heard about that. What new cars use GPS speedometers?

I suspect what you are experiencing is not due to GPS but the laser and radar sensors built into many new cars...

    TR4/4A Re: GROSE-JET or Viton-tip for SU HS6 carbs?

+1 against Grose Jets. I have had them both stick closed and stick open. As mentioned above and elsewhere on the web, modern versions are often coated with a Cosmoline-like substance to protect the...

    TR2/3/3A Re: Valvoline VR1 price
